Whimsical poems

I grew up thinking that poetry had to be complex and analysed: in other words I didn’t enjoy it.

However, things shifted when I discovered contemporary prose & poetry, the kind that reads like thoughts and enunciates my lived experiences. This work was introduced to me by poets such as Beau Taplin and Rupi Kaur.

Similarly, on this page, you will find my poems, each a reflection of a lived experience; I hope you enjoy them.

As she sat on her porch,

Wind caressing her silver strands,

A light bulb ignited,

It was never about finding someone to house her fullness,

But a lesson,

To unequivocal acceptance.

I once met a guy who lit me up like the most alluring fireworks.

But it didn’t take me long enough to realize that even fireworks get blinding and deafening after sometime.

Two souls collide,

Their worlds as contrasting as a palm to the back of it’s hand,

Hearts that speak in transcendence,

Two bodies that merge into one energy,

Brief in time, forever etched in memory.

Two souls collide,

Their worlds as contrasting as a palm to the back of it’s hand,

Hearts that speak in transcendence,

Two bodies that merge into one energy,

Brief in time,

Forever etched in memory.
