Does it ever feel like you’re always chasing success but never seem to catch up? Here’s something to consider: you need to rewire your subconscious mind.
Your reality is a result of your subconscious mind and today we’re going to debunk this uncommon truth and find a solution to this roadblock to your success.
Most of the methods that I will list below to aid in rewiring your subconscious mind for success come from a book that I love, titled “Subconscious Mind Power” by James Thompson. The book is super short, insightful, and life-changing.
Let’s get into it!

The conscious vs the subconscious mind.
To better understand the role that your subconscious mind plays in your life we must begin by understanding the general workings of our brain.
We have one brain (you must be like duh🥱), but think of it as segmented into two the conscious mind, which we are aware of and control, and the subconscious, also known as the non-conscious mind, which we are not aware of but is always at play like background music.
| Conscious mind. | Subconscious mind. |
| voluntary thoughts & actions. | Involuntary body reflexes and emotions. |
| Logical. | Emotional. |
| Limited memory capacity. | Unlimited memory capacity. |
Understanding the power of your subconscious mind.
Some women do everything right. They work hard, they work smart, and they do everything by the book, but success is always at arm’s length; I know this because I have been this particular woman.
Until I decided enough was enough and learned about the power of my subconscious or nonconscious mind.
And the limiting beliefs that were holding me back.
What is the subconscious mind you may ask?
Think of the subconscious mind as this huge computer that stores all the data of your life’s experiences, and by all, I mean all. Emotions, memories, faces, skills automation, and bodily functioning.
An Interesting fact is that the subconscious mind is responsible for roughly 85% of the brain’s activities.
So yeah, it’s pretty powerful.
But what does this 85% entail?
Think of your breathing, the operation of your body organs, and the automation of a skill like driving or chewing once you learn it.
But here’s where it gets even more interesting.
Your subconscious mind is what we call emotional, unlike our logical conscious mind. Our subconscious mind stores our beliefs, values, emotions, and experiences.
It is a huge bank of all the information that has been programmed into us since childhood.
Our subconscious has unlimited memory capacity, which shapes us in ways that we can’t fathom, but only try.
But the important question is, “What has this got to do with you not being able to achieve the success that you desire?“
How the subconscious mind influences a person’s success.
From a very young age, our subconscious mind starts to absorb information like a sponge; it slowly starts to collect our beliefs, values, and emotions, and starts to accept the information as true.
Scientists call it the formation of neuropathways and the layman’s language is rewiring the subconscious mind.
An Interesting fact is that the subconscious mind is responsible for roughly 85% of the brain’s activities.
Neural pathways are connections in the brain formed by repeated thoughts or actions. The more they’re used, the stronger they become.
If you have parents who love, support you, and cheer you on, you start to see yourself as those things loved, capable, and confident.
Similarly, a child who’s constantly bullied and made to feel insufficient grows up to become a woman who feels incapable, unlovable, etc. unless …
They bring their unconscious self-perception to awareness and start working towards reinstalling better beliefs/inner thoughts.
Five ways to rewire your subconscious mind to attract success.
It all starts and ends with your subconscious mind.
Your conscious mind is more than often ready to cooperate, think positive thoughts, and learn the skills you need to get promoted, but your subconscious mind offers resistance because of what it knows.
Luckily for us, the subconscious mind is reprogrammable using several methods, this process is referred to as neuroplasticity.
Neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections throughout life. It means your brain can change in response to learning, experience, thoughts, or even injury.
You can take the sponge and squeeze the old water from it and allow it to reabsorb fresher, better water that serves the woman you aspire to be.
How long does it take to reprogram your subconscious mind? The time varies for each person; remember that you are undoing years of conditioning, so there’s no set timeline.
Here are some scientifically proven ways to steadily reprogram your subconscious mind to attract success;
1. Affirmations.
Our beliefs and values are a result of the intake of repetitive information. Say you are a Christian and you believe in God, this belief stems from the repetition and emphasis that you received as a child or even adult from other people, be it your pastor or parents.
You internalized the suggestion of a superior being and it became part of your belief system.
This is the same way that affirmations work.
With enough repetition, your subconscious mind eventually accepts your affirmations as true.
You may be brilliantly talented, but your subconscious mind doesn’t believe you are You can create an affirmation like “ I am a wonderful nurse” and repeat it every day for as long as it takes you to believe it.
James, in his book “Subconscious Mind Power,” recommends that you should create at least a dozen affirmations about the successful woman you want to become. Include all the key areas in your life.
You can create your own affirmation card decks on canva.com and print them.
Put them in a visible place like your bathroom mirror or bedside table, and repeat them every day.
2. Visualization.
Visualizing is basically foreseeing something that you want, in this case, success.
Why does visualization work? Because your subconscious mind can’t really tell the difference between real-life images and tactful imagination.
Pro athletes have used this method for years to attain medals.
Now, by combining your affirmations together with visualization, your subconscious mind starts to slowly reprogram and believe that you are capable, you deserve that position, that salary raise, that vacation, that good, kind, and loving man, and so on.

3. Engage your emotions.
Remember that we said that the subconscious mind is emotional and recognizes and believes more in emotions.
Therefore, while doing your affirmations and visualization, you must tap into how it feels and looks for you.
Here’s how you can do that.
- Add an element of emotion to each affirmation. I.e., I am a talented fashion designer, and I feel great each time I see my client’s bright smiles.
- Bask in that feeling of joy while visualizing your happy client wearing your design.
4. Have faith.
By Faith, I mean believing in a higher power.
Yes.
Believing in a higher power requires us to have blind faith that we are becoming the people we desire to be and that we are going to have the things that we desire.
As James puts it, “Expectation is a self-fulfilling prophecy”. What we expect is what we become. You expect to be confident, and you act with confidence.
5. A mind movie.
This is the most exciting part for anyone who doesn’t want to manually do affirmations and visualization.
What is a mind movie? A mind movie is a technology-driven way to reprogram your subconscious mind. As the name suggests this is a movie that you create around your ideal life. It includes affirmations, images, a kaleidoscope, and calming music.
It’s a digital vision board that isn’t static.
It totally works. I tried it, and ladies!
At the beginning of this year, I created a mind movie around 5 areas of my life that I wanted to find success in.
- A self-hosted personal development blog for women.
- Freelance writing gigs.
- A better relationship with my loved ones.
- A dressing style that made me feel confident and wonderful.
- Falling in love with exercising and moving my body.
Three months after creating this mind movie and watching it often (not every day, but I recommend you watch it every day), all the things in the movie were lining up.
I am here writing on the self-hosted blog. I have one solid client for my writing services, I am a better mom and daughter. And I always feel so confident when I step out.
Point in case a mind movie is a wonderful tool to reprogram your subconscious mind.
You can use it hand in hand with affirmations and visualization or by itself.
How to create a mind movie on Canva.

Closing remarks.
Yes, it’s possible to rewire your subconscious mind for success by undoing years of information and conditioning.
By using tools like affirmations, visualization, and mind movies, you can start to do away with unconscious beliefs, emotions, and values that hinder your success by replacing them with informed data.
