Well..well, if it’s not a mid-year reset, beckoning on your doorstep.

Depending on what time you’re reading this, it’s roughly halfway through the year, and you’re probably feeling overwhelmed, lost, drained, and in need of some motivation. A fancier term would be“a life reset.”

It’s your lucky day then.

Together, we shall follow seven steps to a rejuvenating mid-year life reset, a.k.a soul searching.

Girl, let’s get you back on track to those goals and that life you’ve been yearning for.

Precisely what is a mid-year life reset?

Let’s begin by answering what a life reset is? It’s the ability to take a candid evaluation of your life pattern: Routines, relationships, career fulfillment, life purpose, behavior patterns, and answer this question: am I satisfied with how I am currently conducting my life?

It’s allowing yourself the honesty and respect to realize that you’re in control, what is working? What can you improve? What lies on the other side of action?

So, to sum it up, a mid-year life reset is basically doing all that I just mentioned halfway through the year.

Here’s a little gem that will change how you live: “Set your life goals into two halves or even quarters.”

I prefer halves because it gives me more time to actually work on myself and my plans, so I  usually plan out the first six months at the beginning of January and then the second half in July.

7 Signs that you’re in dire need of a mid-year life reset.

We always start a new year with so much excitement, so much promise of change, and unicorns and whatnot.

But as the year proceeds the excitement starts to wear off, we start to slug on our new year resolutions, we don’t show up to our full potential.

The motivation starts to dwindle, and our minds start to wander like they did in Mrs. Johnsons’ history class.

It’s not your fault, it’s a human weakness we all carry.

Girl, believe me, I get it.

So here are the undeniable signs that it’s time for a mid-year life reset.

1. You feel stuck.

There’s a certain sluggishness that hovers in the air in the months of May, June, and July; things are no longer as fast-paced.

You may feel at a standstill when it comes to your goals like you need to inject an element of mystery or excitement.

2. Unmotivation.

Towards the middle of the year, I’ve noticed that I work out less, and I have no damn idea where.

But my guess is that it has something to do with a lack of motivation.

Luckily, I try not to let it seep into other areas, but who’s to say that it’s a foolproof strategy?

3. You’re in comparison mode.

You’re busy scrolling on Instagram comparing yourself to every Andy and Jane.

Didn’t we agree at the beginning of the year that we wouldn’t do this?

4. Questioning your life’s purpose.

Hmmm…” What am I even doing with my life.” You silently wonder, waiting for some monk to materialize before you and have the answer.

Mid-year fog.

5. You’re starting to secretly hate your routines.

Do you remember how much you romanticized your Routines at the beginning of the year? Candles while cleaning at 10. a.m. and whatnot.

Well, now you hate it; it feels rigid and like a chore that you just need to get over and done with.

Tell you what, I am convinced that the entire human race is but a bunch of ADHDs and suckers for novelty.

6. You’re emotionally drained.

Snappy, stressed, irritable, in need of a gateway that’s you and me too, sister.

7. You don’t feel aligned with your goals.

Another human trait is that we always need a pinata to hit, like that Mexican blindfolded game, but sometimes we don’t want to play that; we want to switch to basketball or whatever game we like.

What am I saying?

The goals you had at the beginning of the year may no longer be it, maybe you already hit the bull’s eye,r maybe it no longer feels like you.

Why mid-year is the perfect time for a life reset.

The year unfolds in seasons. The first three months of the year are all about action and excitement, and the last three months of the year are festive and tight-knit.

However, as I mentioned in between, we lose ourselves; it’s like sailing through a vast ocean. The embarkment is thrilling, the arrival is reviving, but the long days and nights at sea are, well..vast. Not that I know much about sailing.

So, if there was ever a perfect time to do a life reset, then it’s halfway through the year. (Start, mid, finish).

The best thing about mid-year resets is that you have a very good grasp on what you set out to do and what is working; it’s like having a cheat sheet under the table.

In fact, you need not hide it.

Begin by conducting a mid-year life audit.

Go ahead and gasp because this is the difficult part, the part that keeps most away from doing a mid-year life reset.

The hardcore truth of how your life feels and the huge role you’ve pivoted thus far.

Steps to conducting a mid-year life audit.

Darling, get your journal out. Whenever we need answers we go inwards through journaling and find them.

So are you ready with pen and paper??

1. create a sacred space.

Feminine energy thrives in safety and the word audit can be a little alarming.

Pick a nice little calm corner it could be your bedroom or a park bench.

Create an intention that could be as simple as “This life audit will bring me mental clarity and happiness.”

This is a judgment-free exercise.

2. Analyze your New Year resolutions.

This is especially wonderful if you wrote it all down and you have a point of reference, but if not, don’t beat yourself up; you will leverage your memory using these prompts.

  • What goals did I set in January?
  • Which ones did I follow through on? Why?
  • Which ones didn’t stick, and do I still want them?

3. Assess key areas of your life.

You most likely set goals as per the key areas of your life, right? So here are the questions you need to ask yourself.

Here’s a trick score each of these areas on a scale of 1-10.

  • Self-Love & Confidence :How do I feel about myself lately?
  • Career or Purpose: Do I feel fulfilled by my work?
  • Money & Abundance: Am I being intentional with my finances?
  • Health & Energy: Am I listening and doing right to my body?
  • Relationships: Are my relationships energizing or draining?
  • Mindset & Growth: Am I growing, learning, expanding?
  • Environment & Lifestyle: Does my space feel supportive of who I want to be?

4. Celebrate your wins.

Okay, maybe it’s true that you feel a little lost halfway through the year, but that doesn’t mean that you haven’t achieved some kickass goals you set out in January.

For all I know you totally surprised yourself by achieving both expected and unexpected things, small and big wins.

I don’t care if your goal was to remember to floss each day, sign ten clients, to lose x amount of pounds, or be happier.

Celebrate it, write it all down.

This will be your last step before we jump into the actual plan for a bomb-ass remainder of the year.

7 steps to your soft feminine mid-year reset.

You will find plenty of articles on the internet about how to do a hard mid-year reset, but absolutely none about a feminine Approach to a successful mid-year reset.

The idea is not to drain you; we’re not looking to go all hard; we instead want to restore playfulness and purpose without overwhelming you; I want your candle to burn throughout the remainder of the year.

So here’s what you will do.

Step 1: let’s do a detox.

We’ve been accumulating so much unneeded energy through junk foods, social media, and shopping sprees etc, and you will need to clean that all out before we can continue.

Here’s my take, depending on how much free time you have and, of course, your cycle and how energetic you feel.

Set aside some time it may be a week or two to clean up the following:

  • Clean out your space, and throw out stuff you don’t feel or need. Really deep clean, do the same for your office/desk if any.
  • Your phone, unnecessary photos, unfollow accounts that no longer align, rearrange your playlist to high vibe music, delete contacts you don’t need.
  • Brain dump, grab your journal, and do some free-flow journaling of anything that has been boggling you.
  • Food detox, this could look like, limiting your intake of alcohol, opting for organic fruits and vegetables. To get the full scope read here.
  • Digital detox, yes, yes, I can assure you that you will be completely fine without TikTok for a day, even two. Believe me, this is especially hard for me to admit, but we both need a break from our phones and screens in general. Find a hobby to fill in the time.

Step 2: Solo date.

As a full-time single mum, I really don’t mean that you must go out but if you can get away to a peaceful place, great.

We’re about to get into the serious part.

If you can’t have a solo date outside, do it inside, in your bedroom, or couch. For me, I use my toddler’s mid-day nap.

Wear something cute, order something tasty or refreshing, bump yourself up, and…

Step 3: Redefine your mid-year resolutions.

Remember the journaling prompts we used above to do the mid-year life audit?

We ascertained the goals we had achieved so far, what felt like a dodged bullet, and what we wanted to keep on working towards.

Again, here are a few journaling prompts that will immensely assist you in setting up your mid-year goals.

  • What goals did I set at the beginning of the year that I intend to continue working on?
  • What did I learn about myself in the first half of the year and how can I honor that growth moving forward?
  • Moving forward, what are the top 5 goals that I want to focus on, and why do they truly matter to me?
  • Which habits no longer feel aligned with the woman I want to be?
  • Where have I been hustling or forcing and how can I surrender more and trust the process?
  • What habits or routines make me feel radiant, empowered, and energized, and which others can I add to the list?
  • In which areas of my life am I playing small and what would happen if I allowed myself to expand?
  • What am I holding onto right now that no longer aligns with my dream woman?
  • What would my life look like by the end of this year if I showed up and trusted myself fully?

Answer these prompts honestly, and you will feel a renewed clarity.

Step 4:  Come up with clear action steps.

An example of an action step is…

Say your goal is to build confidence: start with an action step like;

  • I will journal to gain clarity on what causes my low self-esteem.
  • Then I will try EFT tapping.
  • I will dress up in a way that makes me confident
  • I will show my inner child the path to empathy and healing dah …dah.

That is an example of an action step.

For every goal/desire, you will create actionable, realistic steps(with a timeline )that take you closer to your outcome; start small if you feel intimidated.

Do all this in your digital or paperback journal.

Step 5: let’s bring in the aesthetics.

The most exciting part is we finally get to create a mid-year vision board or mind movie, which is basically an elevated version of the former.

How to make a vision board on Canva.

  • Open Canva.com.
  • Search for a “Vision Board” template.
  • Upload Images – Use Pinterest, Unsplash, or Canva stock.
  • Add Text – Power words + affirmations.
  • Customize – Adjust colors, fonts, layout.
  • Save – Download as JPEG/PNG.

How to make mind movie.

  • Go to Canva.com
  • Choose a video template or a custom design of 1080×1920 or 1920×1080.
  • Add a kaleidoscope (search elements) for a few seconds at the beginning and end of your video.
  • Add clips representing your goals + text affirmations. Use your own clips, Canva stock, Pexels, or Unsplash stock videos.
  • Click download.

Step 6: Cycle sync.

Cycle syncing is when a woman lives in honor of the four phases of the menstrual cycle.

As women, our energy levels shift as per the cycle we’re in (follicular, ovulatory, luteal,, and menstrual).

When you live in honor of this cycle you will no longer feel drained and stressed. It is our body’s guiding compass, and we’re lucky to have it.

Step 7: Lastly, create a power word.

This is a little game I like to play; at the beginning and middle of the year, I come up with a power word that I want to define the next six months.

The power word has to be something very intuitive.

To create your power word ppthink of one word that will represent the next six months of your life.

It could be something like transformation, resilience, creativity, or joy.

Final thoughts.

Dear reader, I hope that you’ve gotten great insight as to how you shall conduct soft mid-year reset.
