The significance of the moon cycle in relation to manifesting.
Alright I know that the first question you have is what on earth does the moon have to do with me trying to manifest a,b and c?
Interestingly, a lot.
Since medieval times as well as contemporary times the moon has been held in deep significance aiding in activities such as:
- Tracking time over mere days dating as far as 25,000 years ago.
- Lunar navigation using the moon, sun and stars.
- A guide on agriculture for early civilizations like the Romans.
- The moon’s gravitational pull on Earth is mostly responsible for the high and low tides.
- A guide for religious calendars such as Ramadan for Muslims and Easter for Christians.
- The moon has become a representation of the duality of the universe, i.e, the moon and the sun, the female and the male.
- In the manifestation community, the moon is considered a metaphysical energy emitter; its phases are used as a guiding compass to implement different rituals, i.e., the full moon is for letting go and trusting in divine alignment.
Basically, we have always been interconnected with the moon and this is just to mention a few ways.
Consider the 8-phase lunar cycle that takes place every 29.5 days, your own freely given manifestation structure by God, the universe, or whatever you call your higher power.
Cool isn’t it?
Should you use the moon to manifest? Absolutely, but how?
Manifestation rituals for each lunar phase.
The moon has a total of eight phases that span over a 29.5-day cycle, and here’s what to do for each phase to not only manifest but align energetically.
1. New moon ๐ manifesting (day 0)
The new moon ushers in a fresh beginning. This is day 0 of a lunar cycle, and we’re unable to see the dark moon with the naked eye.
Ideally, this is when you want to set the intention of whatever it is you’re manifesting.
Personally, I like to manifest one thing at a time.
This is the time to plant a seed. For example, I will use my blog as a point of reference. Here’s the seed I would plant at this time: “I have 10,000 monthly site visits.” A current goal I have.
But what rituals would I use during the new moon?
- Candle manifesting: pick a candle, the color of which could represent what you’re manifesting, engrave your desire on the candle, or write it on a piece of paper and burn it over the candle. As this happens you can visualize your desire as true.
- Affirmations: if you love affirmations and they work really well for you, this is the time to create an affirmative statement for your desire and repeat it at an allocated time each day.
- Cleanse your energy: To signify a new beginning and a shedding of past cycles, cleanse your physical and metaphysical space, through saging, a salt bath, and a visualization of letting go of old energy.
- Make that vision board: wild imagination is not for everyone, and here’s where your vision board comes in. Is it a lot to make a vision board for each lunar cycle? Hell no.
- Charge your crystal: if you’re into crystals or you’d like to be, this is your chance, a few crystals to use on the new moon include:clear quartz to amplify your intentions and selenite to purify your energy. For more on the crystals click here.
Waxing crescent ๐ (day 1-6)
Yes, the new moon is pretty short-lived, but in the waxing crescent, we start to build momentum, and our desires fully sync in.
How to recognize it? A thin crescent is visible on the right side of the moon.
So what are we up to?
We take our first steps, which look like breaking down our humongous intention into small bite-sized pieces.
So here’s what that looks like.
- Yay affirmations: remember my blog traffic expansion example in this phase, I would double down on these affirmations, my favorite way to do this is using the wheel manifestation technique(focus wheel).
- Break down the goal: manifestations are goals, but goals aren’t always manifestations. I digress. The end intent can often feel far-fetched, and we don’t want that block, so ask yourself, what inspired action can I take today? And tomorrow to align myself. For me, it looks like publishing a blog post each week and posting it on Pinterest.
- Work through your self-worth with this journal prompt: here’s a fact, we all want things, but what separates the manifesters from the wishers is that feeling of deservingness, and here’s a simple way to work through that. Answer this prompt: “Why do I deserve what I am manifesting? ” Give as many good reasons as you can.
- Symbolic planting of your intention: if you fancy your plants, hit two birds with a stone, by planting something to represent your new goal and the momentum.
3. First quarter ๐ (day 7-8)
We can finally see half of the right side of the moon. We’ve been doing our manifesting rituals, and maybe some doubt is kicking in as we settle into this routine.
So What’s up?
- Journal through the obstacles: our limiting beliefs try to protect us, but they also hold us back, so journal through all those fears and doubts, then burn the paper, recognize, and let go.
- Reground yourself: A regulated nervous system and good energy are paramount to alignment, so I want you to move your body, meditate, and overall just do those things that make you feel good and get your head out of your…opps.
4. Waxing gibbous ๐ (day 9-13)
More than half of the moon is illuminated on the right side and the theme for this phase is trust the process, realign.
- Review and readjust: go back to the drawing board, what’s been working so far in terms of your manifestation techniques, it’s okay to switch to something more you. Also, what’s your energy check? Do you feel aligned? Lastly, how are your action steps? Do they need tweaking?
- High frequency boost: Gratitude is one of the quickest ways to raise your vibration from lack to abundance, so at this phase and every other day, write at least three things you’re super grateful for, and watch the shift.
- Energy work: Yes, my insistence at this phase is your energy because it’s easy to get caught up in our 3d reality, so practice meditation, walking meditation, breathwork, and grounding.
5. Full moon ๐ (day 14-15)
Not only is the moon a perfect circle of glory but we’re presented with an opportunity to do the following:
Not that this matters, but I love watching the moon almost every other night and witnessing the changes. The full moon is, of course, my favorite.
- Trust and release: at this point, we’ve been hyper-fixating on our manifestation goals, but as the full moon emerges, I really want you to recede control. You’ve asked, best believe that the magic is being worked. Have you ever witnessed a plant grow in height in real time? You just find it bigger each time.
- Celebrate your journey: yes, it’s only been 13 days, but you’ve taken aligned action by working on your vibration and taking any other small steps, and those are your small wins, celebrate with a sweet treat, good vibe music, and gratitude.
- Full moon charging: the full moon is the lunar cycle at its optimal energy, so this is an opportunity to charge your crystals, manifestation journal, affirmized water, etc, under the moonlight.
- Tiny supporting ritual: place your hand on your chest, bask in the energy of the full and say this affirmation “everything is aligning wonderfully for me,” breathe in release.
6. Waning gibbous ๐ (day 16-20)
The moon begins to slowly lose its light, or scientifically speaking, the moon begins to turn away from the sun, which gives it light.
It’s recognizable by the less-than-full left illuminated side.
So what will you do in the waning gibbous because it’s certainly not an invitation to lose momentum.
- Write a letter of gratitude: energetically, what you want is already yours, so I want you to write as the version of you who already has it in your 3d reality, thank your higher power for supplying, but most importantly, describe the feeling.
- Trust release: from here onwards, we’ve done the work, now we’re going to be releasing in the waning phases, and trusting that it’s inevitable, it’s now out of our control.
7. Last quarter ๐ (day 21-23)
This is the last half moon, lit on the left side.
In this phase I want you to do the following:
- Forgiveness practice: if you’re walking around with resentment and anger towards others or yourself, repeat the following: ” I choose to forgive you/me, I release.” Recleanse your energy.
- Decluttering: still on cleansing, this is a good time to lightly declutter, pick an area like your bedroom, and do it.
- A supporting ritual: you can do is a herbal cleansing bath.
8. Lastly, Waning crescent ๐ (day 24-29.5)
Before the small silver crescent on the left side disappears, I want you to rest, reflect, and surrender.
- Reflect: how did it feel manifesting with the lunar cycle? Do you believe that you’re already in abundance of what you’ve been manifesting? Will you do this again?
- Rest and surrender: give it a break now, no more need to use manifestation methods on the same desire because it’s already yours, continue taking your aligned actions, but don’t hyperfixate.
Final thoughts.
This is it, my lovelies, are you feeling excited for the next moon phase to begin putting your manifestation into practice? Because I am.
