Wow, the year is coming to a close and the perfect way to close this 2025 chapter is a 31 December journaling prompts challenge.
Why journaling? Nothing is as revealing and reflective as a pen/paper or keyboard.
The goal as we close this chapter is not only to have loud ass fireworks, family time, and loads of beer, but to do a quick recap of what the year has taught us and, of course, set new intentions for 2026!
I first started doing a journal prompt for each day of December, last year, and holy crap, now I can’t stop. The best part? I get to save that information as proof of my growth.
Ready to do this challenge with me…come along as I tell you the benefits of end-of-the-year journaling and of course give you the fire prompts 😉
You will be so amazed by how far you have come from January you!!
Table of Contents
Why reflecting before the new year matters.
1. You release emotional clutter.
I don’t know about you, but certain negative emotions got stirred up this year and I don’t look forward to carrying them into January.
As we answer a prompt at a time, we also get to release that which is no longer aligned with our new version.
2. You get to celebrate your growth.
I love how, as humans, we are ever evolving, sort of like a Windows update.
Maybe you started the year as a 9.0, but now you’re at a 10, girl. It’s time to celebrate all the milestones you’ve hit, small and big.
In fact, I would love to know in the comments after we’re done, as for me this blog has been one of my bigger milestones getting to talk to you…pure Bliss💖
3. Reconnect with yourself.
All year we’re in operation mode, chasing goal after goal but through this December Journaling challenge you actually get to slow down, see your life from a hawk’s(observers) POV.
Think of watering your mind, being self-aware instead of being on autopilot.
4. Energy realignment.
It’s time to cleanse your energy and focus on thoughts and emotions that actually feel good, think of gratitude, and hope for what life holds ahead.
5. Set goals that feel right.
Once you have an analysis of how far you’ve come in various areas of your life then you’re able to make goals that are actually in alignment with your identity.
How to use these end-of-the-year journal prompts.
- Make a cozy ritual: how you choose to tackle the journal prompts which will be in five sections is up to you it could be a week or one for the 31 days either way I suggest making a cozy ritual that makes you feel safe as you journal it could be (tea, candles, soft music, consistent time)
- Be brutally honest: whether you’re reflecting on the state of your relationships and what you could have done better or setting your fitness goals for 2026, I need you to not lie to yourself to fit into society’s mold.
- Have grace: you will realize that you got something’s right and others totally flopped, show yourself grace, not shame & guilt.
- Reread your entries in January: go through your entries in 2026, compare and contrast, whether you’ve set the ball rolling in the right direction.
